The emphasis Google gives to local search means explicit geographical terms are no longer necessary if you are looking for something nearby. For instance, type in restaurant and you will find a series of local results. On the other hand, if you are visiting somewhere for a business trip or holiday you would put in restaurant + the place name.

According to unofficial figures Google Plus racked up 343m user hits in the last quarter of 2012 – still behind Facebook’s 643m but fast closing the gap.
Has Facebook started to lose its prominence following its public flotation? What with the new restrictions on what people can see, privacy issues, increasing advertising,promoted posts and less relevant content in news feeds, many people are starting feel this is the case.
On the other hand, Google Plus, the once derided former ghost town is now teeming with new recruits. When the network first launched, it was quite tricky to find other members and interact with them. Now, that’s all changed.
